- Disable any accelerators (like EarthLink Accelerator, BellSouth Accelerator Technology, as well as any personal Internet accelerators you may have downloaded and installed ) you might be using along with your ISP.

Q : I can log on to Vista , but I keep getting kicked back to the Log In page.
This problem sounds like it's related to the cookies and how the cookies are handled by your browser and personal firewalls. Make sure that you are using a supported browser and that you have configured your browser properly, you have uninstalled any browser toolbars and that you have disabled any popup blockers.
If you are using AOL; connect to the Internet using AOL, then minimize your AOL browser. Then, open a supported browser (Like Internet Explorer or Netscape) and log into Vista . To view a list of supported browsers go to http://www.webct.com/tuneup/viewpage?name=tuneup_browser_tuneup_information

Q: I can log on to Vista, but I get the error message "Error: Session Already Running."
You cannot have more than one Vista window open at a time. Try closing all browser windows and logging in again.
1) Make sure you have all the right browser components including Java 1.4.2 to interact with Vista .
2) If you have an additional search bar (Google, Hotbar, etc,) that has been installed on your browser by a third party, this may cause this error also. Try removing this from your Control Panel >> Add/Remove Programs and trying again after restarting.
3) Don't try to access Vista from a bookmark or Favorite link.
4) In Vista , do not right click and select "Open in New Window" or (without closing your browser) return to your log in page and log in again.
5) You may have spyware and/or a browser hijacker on your computer that is causing your problem. Download and run Ad-Aware/Spybot to remove any suspected spyware.
6) Disable any "Accelerators" that maybe used in conjunction with your ISP. This would include Earthlink Accelerator, BellSouth Accelerator Technology, etc.
7) Clear your cookies.
8) Don't use a bookmark to get to Vista . Instead type http://vista.kent.edu into the address bar. Bookmarks confuse Vista .
9) Clear you ID cache.
Q: I cannot access the Chat window or attach an assignment.
You need to have the latest version of Java (Sun) installed on your computer. If you're not sure if you have Java, you can check here: http://www.java.com/en/download/help/testvm.jsp
You must have Java enabled in order to use WebCT Vista.
Q: I can't access Discussions and/or Quizzes in my WebCT course.
If you are running the Personal Firewall/Internet Security Suite, try disabling everything except VirusScan.
Q: I can't access any PDFs in my course. I get the error message "There was an error opening this document."
You should set your browser to hide friendly HTTP error messages.
For Internet Explorer: From under tools in your browser click Internet Options. Under the Advanced tab scroll down to Browsing and uncheck the Show friendly HTTP error messages.
When you are finished in Vista for a session, remember to log out. If you are working on a "public" computer in a lab or library, if you don't log out, another user access your courses in Vista . So always make it a practice to click "Log Out" in the upper right corner of the Vista window as you leave the Vista session.
Q: Why are some of my Vista pages not loading correctly?
